Announcements and Record of Updates:
- 16 Apr 2002: Posted slides on Modes of Addressing.
- 02 Apr 2002, 0748 hrs: Posted an updated file with the Linux
assignments. Please access this
file from the Course Map.
- 25 Mar 2002: Some folks have encountered
difficulties in completing the deliverable for Computer Organization
and Architecture assignment 5, whose due date is today. I would like to bring to your attention
that there is a tutorial posted below in a URL on this page, entitled,
“Tutorial on Status Flags, and on the Emulation of Different Arithmetic
Representations using Two’s-Complement Hardware”. This tutorial has been posted all
semester long, ever since the first day of class. It contains specific instructions as
well as examples of code dealing with a problem very similar to the one
given in your assignment. Please
have a look at that tutorial. I
believe it will answer most, if not all, of your questions related to
today’s deliverable.
- 14 Mar 2002: Posted the Grade Distribution for the
mid-term exam for Dr. Abzug’s two sections.
- 13 Mar 2002: Material pertaining to the Term Project
has been up on the web site ever since the beginning of the semester, but
due to an oversight on my part the links to make that information
accessible were not put in. That
omission is now corrected via the following links: Topics-for-Term-Papers,
also Term-Project-option-for-Arithmetic-Instructions-Programming,
also Term-Project-option-for-INFOSEC-Programming, and finally Term-Project. Please examine these documents, and
bring your questions to the next class.
- 11 Mar 2002: For all three sections, the due
dates for Computer Organization and Architecture assignments 4, 5,
and 6 are all postponed by one week (new due dates are 18 March, 25
March, and 01 April), and the deliverable for Computer Organization and
Architecture assignment 7 is canceled.
Please see revised Course Map.
- 08 Feb 2002: For sections 1 and 2, the homework will
be collected on Wednesday, 13 February, instead of the posted due date of
Monday, 11 February.
- 06 Feb 2002: Slides
have been posted pertaining to the last several days of classes.
- 28 Jan 2002: For sections 1 and 2, Quizzes 1 and
2 have now both been graded.
Please pick up your graded quizzes from the plastic box next to Dr.
Abzug’s office door, and bring Quiz 2 to Wednesday’s class.
- 23 Jan 2002: For sections 1 and 2, Quiz 1 has been
graded. Please pick up your graded
quiz from the box outside Dr. Abzug’s office door, and bring it to
Friday’s class. Corrected and
updated group assignments have also been posted.
- 09 Jan 2002: Revised document posted giving
assignment of student numbers for group projects. The revised document takes into account
changes in registration for the three sections.
- 08 Jan 2002: Course Syllabus posted, along with
Course Map and detailed assignments covering the first eleven weeks of the
semester.
