Andrew T. Pham, a piano performance/music composition major from Fairfax, Virginia, and a member of Phi Kappa Phi inducted in 2010, won a 2011 Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship and $5,000 award. Each year, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awards 57 fellowships of $5,000 to top scholars across the United Sates. Read more about Andrew.

On April 11 the JMU Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi held its initation ceremony for 2011 in the Highlands Room of the Festival Conference Center at James Madison University. After remarks by Dr. J. Christopher Arndt, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Letters and incoming president of the chapter, Dr. Charles Pruet, Professor of Mathematics, was initiated into the chapter, along with 81 juniors and seniors.

Spring 2011 Induction Ceremony

Dr. Susan Palocsay steps down this year as president of Phi Kappa Phi after many years of service. Dr. Palocsay has increased the visibility of the chapter at JMU, and helped several students win fellowships and awards from Phi Kappa Phi. The chapter is grateful for her dedication and hard work.
