My research interests include computer, network, and Internet security. I am interested in CyberSecurity, Cyber Defense, and Digital Forensics.
I received a B.S. from Haverford College. I spent the next two years as a member of the Automated Speech Recognition group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. I left NIST to pursue graduate studies in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Virginia. While at UVa, I created the widely-popular Oracle of Bacon at Virginia website. After receving my Ph.D. I joined the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Ohio University. Four years later, I moved to the Department of Computer Science at James Madison University. Currently, I am a faculty member in CS, Program Director of the graduate CyberSecurity program, and co-advisor to the JMU Cyber Defense Club.
